The Grande Finale

For the past 2 months I have been publishing posts in regards to an amazing entrepreneurial idea. My idea is to have our computer screens blown up to the size of walls and be able to be worked on with just our hands and fingers and at the same time make this accessible to any one. Just think of any touch screen device and apply all the rule to a computer. It would be amazing and much easier to work on things especially when using programs like Photoshop. I know I have countless of times messed up with this mouse, but with our own hands we eliminate so many of those errors.

Publishing posts week after week has been quite interesting. I've actually had fun doing this. It is sometimes hard to apply certain topics to my idea, but for the most part the job gets done. As I read back, I realize how much closer to reality my idea gets. With each post, my idea grows and expands even tho there's so much more to it. Each post makes me think of how ideas are turned into reality. It's not as easy as we think, but it's definitely possible.

Thoughts and ideas flow in and out of my mind, but how do i actually turn my idea into reality? Honestly, I have no clue. But, to start somewhere, I'd say its with this. Writing down my idea and expanding on it as much as I can. I'd think of every single detail my idea would incorporate and expand on it all. I'd then get together with the right people to see how possible my idea is. From there I would try to make some type of prototype, something tangible and concrete that I could actually work with to see if its all worth it. Once that's done, I would seek for sponsors. Sponsors to help me out and invest in my product and get me going on a larger scale. Meanwhile, I would try to find all the marketing help possible. My idea has to be heard. My product needs to be bought. I need customers. Therefore advertising would be a huge key in how widely I manage to distribute my idea and how much i manage to sell. Maybe down on paper this all might seem simple, but I know its a lot harder and involves much more work.

Entrepreneurship is a lot more than an idea. Its the act of working with an idea, an innovation, and creating it into something that is marketable and that people would actually buy. This is what I am doing here. I am taking an idea, expanding on it as much as I can and creating it into a product that could be launched into the market and would be able to compete with other products. I want to create something people will actually buy.

All ideas do not turn into reality, we all know that. Some ideas are better than others and others are just not possible. Even those that are possible, come across challenges. I could easily come across countless of things that could just make my idea back fire or just bring it down. People all have different tastes and some might not like my idea while others my love it. Competition is a big factor in facing challenges. There are billions of people in this world and I know I can't be the only individual who thought of this idea or something at least close to it. So other simple products might exist that I would have to compete against. Even then, people would just find ways of expanding on my idea and compete with me. Other challenges that I may come across is that my idea may just not work. I might not have the necessary technology to make my idea into a reality or there might be some small piece missing to it all that would bring my idea down from a must have to a unnecessary thing.

Knowing all of this, and knowing what it takes, or at least some part of what it takes to build on my idea, I wouldn't make much changes. If anything I could build on it even more. I could continue expanding on my idea as technology in our world grows. I wouldn't want my idea to fall behind.

If I came with such an idea like this, is because I myself would buy it if I saw it on the market. I hope some day I do see it out there, and if not buy my own efforts then at least from some other technology lover like me. I hope you've had fun with my posts.

Enjoy.

www.lets.shop.online.please

Living in the 21st century has put us in situations where certain things are a must. For example, each family at least has 1 computer in their home. Technology has just piled on to us so quickly and it has been so appealing to us that we buy in to whatever comes next. With it all comes where to shop for all of this. The most convenient and fastest way that has been developed is online-shopping. We can easily view what we are buying and in the same fashion that we view what we want to buy, we buy it- with just clicks ! We buy everything online now-a-days and my product will be one more product accessible online.

So first thing is first, getting a domain. There are million of websites out there so choosing the right one that is both available and easy for customers to remember is crucial. I'd create something that short and and easy to remember. For example the Macintosh shopping website is just www.apple.com, how fast and easy to remember is that !? Hopefully, names I'd want aren't already taken. Some companies actually go to the means of buying domain names back from those who originally have going up to thousands of dollars. I wouldn't want to spend so much money on a domain name. Once from there I'd structure my website so that its visually appealing and easy to navigate. The layout of my page is some thing I'd take a lot of time in. Who likes to go to a website that all messy an confusing? No one !

Yes, technology does push us forward in to buying and creating a lot of things, but its all about convenience. Having a website would attract a lot of more customers than a store alone. Just the advertisement online alone would help me a great deal on attracting customers. Its all about the customers.

Oh, What to be, Oh what to be...

How many operating systems can you name? No, its not 2. There are a lot of more operatins systems than just Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. There's a whole list from IBM to Lynus, to Unix and a lot more other. When buying a computer to fit our style we choose what operating system it runs on. Most users today use Macintosh and Microsoft Windows based computers. There are the two most popular used today. My product needs to be easi;y-accessible and run on an operating system thats comfortable to use. So on which operating system will my product run on?

I pick them all ! I am not creating a whole new operating system. I am producing a software/application with external accessories that makes it possible for us to to use our hands to create or work on whatever we desire. Talk about hands on! So those that mean that my software and all its gadgets would be easily accessible to any operating system? Not quite, although that would be terrific. The operating systems that I am going to focus on however, are on Windows based PCs and Mac based PCs. These are the two most commonly used operating systems, so why not satisfy the majority of my customers?

It would be just awesome, both profit-wise and consumer-wise if my software were able to be run on all operating systems and computers. However, they are not all built the same and customizing my software for each and every system out there would be very money and time consuming. Therefore I will solely focus on Macs and Windows based PCs. Hopefully the majority of the public agrees on my decision.

The Faster, The Better

How many times in your computer's life span do you ask "Why is my computer so slow?" Simple, the answer is that our computer can only handle so much at a time and we yet continue to stuff it as much as we can. Think of your computer like it were a person. Every one can multi-task. Some can do more that others at any given time. But we all get to a certain point where we can't handle any more. This is the same for a computer. Our computers are all capable of handling multiple work up to a certain point. This certain point, or magnitude of how much our computer can handle is based on its RAM. An idea pertaining to my product is that it should carry as much RAM as possible for it to be able to do multiple tasks. Who wouldn't want a computer that did as much as we could and more?

I have a MacBook Pro 13 with only 2 GB of RAM and this drives me crazy. I can only have so much open before my computer starts to slow down. Sometimes I am working on important things when it slows down and I just pray that it doesn't get to a point where i would have to restart my computer. RAM is always top priority when buying a computer. My idea is that my computer product have as much RAM possible for it not to slow down when working on it. However, different types of RAM capacities would be available for those who know how much work they do. I would have as much as maybe 16 GB of RAM and as low as 2 GB. Again, it depends what type of user you are. If you know you only work with a few applications at a time, then less amounts of RAM would be perfect for you. But who wouldn't mind knowing that in times of great need, a massive amount of RAM is available to them ?

My product is about serving the customer's need. When buying computers, people have lately been seen more informative of what they buying. They know that RAM is a big part of what they should check out for. My plan is to offer as much as possible yet have a variety to those who prefer the small numbers. Its about creating a product that can be customized to the needs of all.

You Make My World a Lot Easier

Don't you just love all the advantages that living in the 21st century provides? It is just simply amazing how our world gets easier and easier as each advancement in technology is created. Now, for the sake of my product, lets focus on one specific advancement in technology. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the e-z pass, but do you know that same concept, of passes through a "reader" like a metal detecter, can be applied to other things? Companies or stores that purchase any big amount of products can use this concept for keeping inventory. What I am talking about is the RFID tags.

RFID tags can make any business owner's life easier. Imagine having to count one by one the amount of goods you have to sell, or having to keep of list of what you have sold. RFID tags can simply make all of this easier. Each single product you have will contain an RFID tag, once it passes though a reader--something like a metal detector-- it will register into it's host computer system that it has passed through this reader. This will help you keep you organized on what has left and come in to your store. In my particular case, I would have RFID tags on all my computer products to keep track of how much I have of what and if i need to stack up on anything. Paper work or even uploading information on to a computer can have its flaws, but RFID tags will help me minimize that margin of error so that I may have a more accurate account of my data. All I would need for this to happen are: RFID tags on all the products, an RFID reader would could be placed at the entrance of the store through which all products will come i though, and a host computer system. I feel its a small price to pay, compared to the convenience it will bring me and how much time will be saved.

Introducing RFIDs into my business would be a great investment. Keeping track of all my products would be a great deal of work if it were to be done manually. But when you have advances in technology that create things like RFID tags, taking care of a business can be a lot easier. RFID would definitely save me money in dealing otherwise wasted when dealing with errors doing things manually. RIFDs will definitely help me move forward with my product.

Color My Thoughts

Last week in class we learned about a couple of things. One thing we learned about was Digital Images. Digital Images involve everything from the pixels in a screen to what color each screen is. It all about how the good the image looks. This is a huge concern for my product. For my product to sell, its image has to be as perfect as possible. Now a days we see amazing image qualities on everything from our phones, to TVs and computers. I want my product to be just as good.

How many times does your teacher have to turn off the lights so that image from the projector looks clear and bright? Or close the blinds so that the sun won't create a glare? Well with my product i don't want that to happen. The screen will not be projected. What people will be working on with the touch of their fingers is on an actual screen. You won't have to lower the resolution nor change the brightness or contrast of the screen. The screen will have a protector, an antiglare screen that will prevent any inconvenience from happening. Now, how about we jump to image formats? Everyone knows its a pain when you save a picture or work of art and it doesn't open due to the lack of a correct format. Well my computer will be able to handle all formats, from JPEG to RAW to PNG to GIF to BMP and many more. Those 16 million possible colors in a pixel will not be a problem.

Today's world provides us with the best images possible. Every product that comes out is even better than the one before. When creating a product we have to find any possibility of an improvement. Having a "good" product is not just good enough. All its aspects has to be taken care of for some one to say "WOW, this is amazing". That is want I want for people to say about my product. I want for people's ideas and creation be as perfect or even better than the images in their mind.

The World Wide Web As My Personal Salesman

Did you know the average American spends more time online than watching tv? Technology can be pretty awesome! We all know how powerful and impacting its use can be. We are constantly informing ourselves though the internet. Who watches the news on TV anymore when it's all posted in the internet? On the internet, we can come across any information we look for. We even come across information we don't look for but that is some how useful or entertaining. The average user is at least in some part of the day on some social networking site, either Facebook, Twitter, Blogger.com, etc.! So how else to advertise a product or service, but than through the world wide web.

The use of social media networking sites have blown up and skyrocketed over these past few years. I personally remember when it all started with Sconnex, then Bebo and shortly after Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter among many others. All of these sites provide a great way to socialize and find out about the latest news. Twitter is huge in providing news seconds after its occurrence. So why not advertise my product through Twitter? As my previous blog stated, my ideas is to amplify screens onto walls and be able to create masterpieces with the touch of your fingers. Now, after my idea is set and ready to go, how do I get people to find out about it and to buy it? How do I advertise my product?

The answer is simple, using the internet. Using sites like Twitter to advertise my product is a great way to let people know about it. Remember, people spend more time using the internet that watching TV. Also, my product would mostly target college students and older, and this rage of people are who mostly spend their time online. This would be a perfect way to let people found out about my product and fast! Who else can compete with the internet but the internet?!
